From Friday, 27th till Sunday, 29th of May 2011 the Geofarm Megaevent is taking place in Rapperswil-Jona (30km from ZURICH) on an adventure farm situated at the beautiful lake of Zurich.

We are welcoming Geocachers from all over the world and are planning to offer You quite some attractions.

On a rainy and hazy day the location seems quiet and mysterious. In spring 2011 this place shall be alive with Geocachers and many like-minded people will get together for an unforgettable Geocaching-Event. However, the farm is even spacious enough to find a quiet place for Yourself, if you wish.

We, the Geofarm Team, consist of Geocachers having quite some experience in organizing events. We are already planning a lot of interesting and funny attractions and activities. However, due to the new rules of Groundspeak regarding Megaevents, we are not able to publish this event on time and as a Megaevent. Still we hope to get at least a temporary Megaevent status because of the fact that in the recent months, Geocachers in Switzerland have already organized events with some hundreds of participants. And if not... we are quite sure, that we will receive the Mega event status after the event. Our goal is clear... with less than 1000 Geocachers we are not satisfied, 1500 would be great and 2000 all the rage! Let's see how many Geocachers will finally show up. We would like to offer an international Geocaching festivity suitable for all ages and every taste. Our target is to offer a comprehensive agenda, which we cannot organize from scratch in just a few days. Therefore, we cannot wait - the planning has to start now, location and material have to be reserved, and supporters are to be found. That's why, though the listing is not yet online, we want to and think we have to inform the Geocaching community through this website, so that You can get information about our ongoing activities and of course already mark the date down!
